Kintsugi Heart Necklace Collection
Handcrafted from reclaimed metal and mended with golden lacquer, these one-of-a-kind heart necklaces embody the profound Japanese art of Kintsugi—literally meaning "golden joinery." Each piece begins as broken scrap metal, then is lovingly forged and welded by Nancy and Henry Iida at Hearts Studio.
In the spirit of Kintsugi, these hearts celebrate the philosophy that brokenness is not something to hide, but to honor. Rather than disguising the cracks and imperfections, golden lacquer highlights each fracture line, transforming what was once damaged into something more beautiful than before. This ancient practice teaches us that our scars—whether visible or invisible—are not flaws to be ashamed of, but proof of our resilience and survival.
Each Kintsugi heart tells a unique story of transformation. No two pieces are identical, as each carries its own pattern of breaks and repairs. The contrast between the raw, weathered metal and the luminous gold creates a striking visual metaphor: we are most beautiful not in spite of our struggles, but because of how we've chosen to heal from them.
